Lowering the driving age to 15
What’s a better way to show your teenager that you trust them by giving them the privilege to drive? In the state of Illinois the driving age is 16 but in some other states the age is lower. The sate government should lower the driving age in Illinois because many teens will realize that with the rights they give us, we’ll have to become more responsible, it will be beneficial to families, and many cars will sell so it’s better for the economy.
When we get you licenses to drive we’ll realize that with the privilege adult give us the more adult we should act. It also show that is a teen is doing there not suppose to do then they’ll get there driving privilege away and they would do anything to get it back. My cousin is now 16 and he’s a pretty good driver, but when he does something wrong he gets his driving privileges taken away so he tries not to mess up. Many teen are already responsible and need a little bit of freedom so they can move on.
Many families’s think that it’s beneficial for them to have someone in the house that knows how to drive for example, if one of your little brother or sister gets really hurt the person that is able to drive will be able the take them to the hospital or if you run out of milk for your cookies that same person who can drive can go to the store to buy some milk.
The government thinks that they won’t get anything out lowering the driving age but many teens are spooled and they want the newest thing so they’ll want the newest cars which will help the economy grow and will help the dealerships make more money.
However, the number one cause of deaths of teens is cause of a distracted driver and many teenagers are text will they drive which will cause much more accident. Although it’s the number one cause of death, only 26 percent of teen admitted to texting and driving.
Teenagers are asking for the rights they deserve but many people don’t think that we aren’t old enough or that we aren’t mature enough to drive. They don’t realize that by them not giving us our right to drive there not only stopping us but there stopping them self from a better future and a world with a better economy.
